According foot marketParis Saint-Germain defender Nuno Mendes is very interested in joining manchester united to meet with coach Rubén Amorim.
The Portuguese international has been a key player for the Ligue 1 champions, but his future is uncertain at the moment. His current contract expires in the summer of 2026 and, as things stand, he has yet to commit to a potential extension.
Mendes is not satisfied with PSG's latest contract offer that is on the table and foot market He claims he is very interested in joining Amorim at Old Trafford. The left back was previously coached by the Portuguese at Sporting Lisbon.
PSG, for its part, is optimistic about extending the defender's stay. They are unlikely to make a mid-season sale and could wait until the summer to consider leaving if he does not sign a new long-term deal.
Possible reunion
United have struggled on the left side of the defense this season. Luke Shaw has been injured for most of the season, while Tyrell Malacia appeared to be out of rhythm after returning from a prolonged absence due to knee surgery.
Diogo Dalot began the season as a makeshift left back for the Mancun giants. The Portuguese ace has continued to operate from the left-back position after the replacement of Amorim Erik ten Hag as new coach of the Red Devils.
Dalot has been far from convincing on paper and United could bring in his compatriot Mendes from PSG. Apparently, the defender has given the green light to the transferbut PSG could deny him a winter transfer to Old Trafford.
Mendes would be a fabulous signing with his great ability to play the ball, win duels and dribble. However, reaching an agreement could be difficult. The defender is priced at £46m per Transfer marketbut PSG could demand a much larger sum.
With concerns over the PSR, United may not be able to afford more than a loan deal unless they can recover funds from multiple player departures. United could wait until the end of the campaign before making a solid approach to secure his services.
