Borussia Dortmund will be without Serhou Guirassy for their Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen on Saturday, but the Guinean is close to returning to full training.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s test, Nuri Şahin told reporters: “We are now increasing the workload of Serhou Guirassy every day. The international break comes at the right time for him, but we are approaching the issue without any pressure.”
It was reported last month that Guirassy would be sidelined until at least September with a knee injury, which he picked up while on international duty in June. Said injury almost jeopardised the player’s move to the Westfalenstadion.
Şahin also stated that Dortmund will be without Yan Couto on Saturday: “He has a minor injury and will stay with us during the international break. We assume that he will be available again against Heidenheim [on September 13].”
Borussia Dortmund opened their campaign with a 2-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.
