Eintracht Frankfurt have today announced the signing of Can Uzun from FC Nürnberg.
Uzun has signed a five-year deal with Die Adler, which will see him remain at the club until 2029.
It is understood that the two clubs had agreed upon a fee of €11 million for the talented teenager, with a further €3 million in performance related bonuses. As well as this, the 2. Bundesliga side have retained a potentially lucrative 10 percent sell-on clause in Uzun.
Upon signing for Die Adler, the 18-year-old commented: “Eintracht Frankfurt is the perfect place for me and my further development. I am really looking forward to the new challenge and can hardly wait to present myself to the Eintracht fans.”
On top of this, Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche remarked: “Can Uzun is one of the greatest talents in Germany. We are happy that he has chosen us despite many interesting offers from all over Europe. He has exceptional skills for his age. We showed Can our clear plan and convinced him. We want to develop him as best as possible and are happy that he will be hunting for goals for us this season.”
This move represents Die Adler’s second new arrival this summer, having recently completed the signing of Krisztián Lisztes from Ferencváros in Hungary. However, Frankfurt have also confirmed the permanent signings of Hugo Ekitiké and Robin Koch, who both spent last season on loan at the club.
