Hoffenheim have today announced the loan extension of David Jurásek (23) from Benfica for another season.
The 23-year-old, who has a market value of €8m, per Transfermarkt, joined Hoffenheim in January and played 13 Bundesliga games (497 minutes), creating one goal. His performances prompted TSG’s recruitment team to extend the Czech’s loan until 2025, a smart move following the departure of Robert Skov.
“Together with David, we now want to continue working on ensuring that he regularly reaches his top level and we definitely trust him to achieve this development with us,” said Pirmin Schwegler, TSG’s Head of Professional Football. “For this reason, we are very pleased that we have been able to extend David’s loan by a year and thus optimally close an important, and vacant position on the left side.”
Alexander Rosen, TSG’s Managing Director, added: “David came to us in Hoffenheim after a difficult phase for him personally at Benfica and after a few weeks of settling in he showed that he can be an important factor in our game. David is a dynamic and strong attacking full-back who also knows how to defend reliably. His outstanding performances in top games, such as our away game in Leverkusen, are wonderful examples of this and allow us to go into the next game very optimistically.”
Since joining Benfica from Slavia Prague for €14m in July 2023, Jurásek struggled, playing just 487 minutes in six months before joining Hoffenheim on loan in January 2024.
