Paris Saint-Germain is also to pay Kylian Mbappé for the months of April, May and June, and with the striker who has already signed Real Madrid, trying to make a last day of payment by itself. Mbappe will be owed an €80m loyalty bonus from PSG, which the French giants seem to think he has agreed to waive.

Mbappe's lawyers have sent PSG an early warning over the non-payment of his contract, while PSG say they will pay him what he is owed as soon as he puts a “gentleman's agreement” in writing to waive the bonus of 80 million euros. So far, Mbappe has neglected to do that, and L'Equipe (via Brand) say the key issue is whether PSG's case will hold up in court. Mbappe currently owes around €100 million from the Ligue 1 champions.

Mbappe reportedly told sporting director Luis Campos and manager Luis Enrique that he “wouldn't be free”, which could lead to them testifying if the case went that far.

The French superstar has shown in the past that he has a lot of affection for PSG and his hometown, but relations with CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi appear to be strained. During his farewell video, Mbappe thanked all his managers and sporting directors by name, but neglected to mention the Qatari business.
