Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) reports that current Heidenheim forward and Bayern Munich loanee Paul Wanner wants to play a bigger role in Munich starting next season.

The 18-year-old has started the season off hotly with four goals and two assists in four games as Heidenheim currently sits atop the Bundesliga, whilst they also qualified for the league face of the Europa Conference League.

Wanner’s future has been the talk of the international break, but mainly his future surrounding where he will play internationally with Austria and Germany vying for him. The forward turned down the opportunity to play for Germany’s under-21s this week as he needed a rest after the start of the season.

At club level, after two loans at Heidenheim and Elversberg, Wanner now feels ready to try and establish himself at Bayern next season. However, it won’t be easy as he will have Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry all ahead of him in the pecking order.

The last Bayern academy player to break through and maintain a place in the first team has been Aleksander Pavlovic.
