“If your only interest is breaking scoring records, you don't need to change anything,” he said in his column for The Telegraph.
“If you have serious ambitions to win the Golden Ball and plays for Real Madrid, he may have a problem. He must add more to his game to make that leap and seriously challenge his rival for the title of the best player of his generation, Kylian Mbappé.”

“The objective is not to win the Ballon d'Or,” he said before the clash against Luton Town. “The objective is to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and he achieved it.
“Without him what we won last season would not be possible, five titles, without him, no possibility, impossible.
“He is a key player for us and he will improve because due to his age and his desire, more games, more experience, reaching the last phases of competitions has never happened in his career.
“So this is his future, but the same is not just true for Erling. Any player, even at 33, can be better, until you retire, you can be better.”
Haaland enjoyed an incredible debut season at City last season as he scored a whopping 52 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions.
Although he does not look set to reach that figure this time around, he has still proven to be key as the club continues to compete for the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Despite this, the Norwegian has not been without criticism, with Roy Keane recently saying that he is “almost like a League Two player' after he struggled against Arsenal.
However, at just 23 years old, Haaland will dominate the scoring charts over the course of the next decade alongside fellow superstar Mbappé.
The duo are emerging as future winners of the Ballon d'Or, an award that has been dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent seasons.
And Haaland could well be champion of the award, as he remains one of the best scorers in world football.
