Barcelona's game against Sevilla on Sunday night is seen as the perfect match to hand Frenkie de Jong his first start in nearly six months. The Dutch midfielder made cameos against Young Boys and Alaves, but with two crunch games coming up against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, he needs to continue to get back to 100% match sharpness.
It was almost certain that de Jong would start against Sevilla, but then Hansi Flick confirmed that the 27-year-old suffered from discomfort in the last 24 hours, AS Diary say that Barcelona is pessimistic about its chances of being able to be at all at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday.
There is some pessimism with De Jong's feelings. Can't even make the team list. @sergidejuan9, @fansjavimiguel

De Jong will be tested during Sunday's morning session, and after this point, it will be known if he can start for Barcelona. Flick will be desperate for a chance to play in the starting line-up, although at this stage, it is more certain that Eric Garcia will play alongside Marc Casado.
