Piers Morgan joked that Arsenal won a key battle in the north London derby before the ball was even kicked.

The Gunners beat their fierce rivals Tottenham 1-0 on Sunday. Gabriel takes the winning prize with a header after a corner in the second half.

But before the players left the tunnel, the battle had already begun.

That's it… the battle of the pets.

Television cameras showed the youngsters waiting for their players to emerge from their respective locker rooms to be by their side.

Only one of the kids was there for Arsenal, the rest were all from Tottenham.

But that didn't stop the little Gooner from ensuring Arsenal's presence in Spurs' backyard was felt from the off as he took on their opponents in the tunnel.

He approached one of the Spurs mascots and playfully pushed him from behind.

As gently as he could, he then high-fived an Arsenal staff member.

He then faced the rest of the Spurs mascots and pointed at his jersey.

Fans on social media loved the cheeky youngster, including Arsenal fan Piers Morgan.

“Even our mascots are tougher than Tottenham's…” he wrote on X, reposting the clip.

A second fan said: “Give this kid a statue NOW.”

“I love it. And the Spurs mascots have to be commended for their composure too,” added a third.

But while it's all a bit of fun in the tunnel, the same can't be said for the game itself.

The score was 0-0 at half-time, but it was a tense 45 minutes in which no fewer than seven yellow cards were shown.

That is the most cards ever shown in the first 45 minutes of a Premier League match.

Chelsea's win over Bournemouth earlier this weekend broke the record for most yellow cards in a Premier League match.

In the end, eight goals were shared in total in north London and the Gunners retained their derby bragging rights.
