Piers Morgan speaks out for all Arsenal fans with two-word message for Jamie Carragher in furious rant
Arsenal fan and Talk TV presenter Piers Morgan told Jamie Carragher to “shut up” after his comments about the Gunners' celebrations on Sunday.
Liverpool legend Carragher drew a fierce reaction Of the Gunners faithful behind Mikel Arteta's team beat the reds 3-1.
was unleashed jubilant celebrations at the Emirates as Arsenal rekindled their title hopes, with Arteta running down the touchline and captain Martin Odegaard snapping photos by club photographer Stuart MacFarlane in front of cheering fans.
Carragher told Sky Sports: “Just go down the tunnel, you've won a game.
“Three points, you've been brilliant, back in the title race. Down the tunnel!”
Five days later, Morgan is still fuming over Carragher's opinion and launched a furious rant on talkSPORT.
He said: “Absolutely pathetic! Here's the deal: VAR has sucked all the life out of goals.
“So now, when someone scores a goal, no one can celebrate, because you have to wait ten minutes to see if some little idiot in some office has decided whether someone's erect nipple is an inch in front of their head.
“I think this whole thing has become completely ridiculous with VAR. It has taken away the joy and fun of watching live football for me.
“So what do we have left? Well, we have to win a game against a team who are at the top of the league and who are playing brilliantly. “We completely dismantled them at the Emirates in front of a boisterous crowd.
“What crimes did we commit? Arteta runs jubilantly down the touchline, just like (Jose) Mourinho did against (Sir Alex) Ferguson, just like (Jurgen) Klopp has done a million times, like every damn manager in the history of football, what he has done when his team beats the team at the top of the league and plays that well.
“And then what happens? Our captain Odegaard has the audacity to take a photo of Stuart MacFarlane, the club photographer and an absolute club legend, with the fans, and this is apparently the most heinous crime in football history.
“Jamie Carragher, shut up. My bad mood is starting to break out. I was jumping around like an overexcited rabbit when those goals went in and I make no apologies for it.
“We can celebrate a great victory.”
