Play with Ryan Mason and get the over-70s involved: Jamie O'Hara and Tottenham fans joke about cunning plan to deny Arsenal their first Premier League title.
Jamie O'Hara joked that Tottenham should pit Ryan Mason against Manchester City to stop Arsenal winning the title.
Arsenal They face Manchester United on Sunday night and if they win they will go top and could be crowned champions a week later.
on tuesday go Spurs host CityThey are currently first but only two points separate them from the Gunners with two to play.
Victory for the north London team would keep Pep Guardiola's men second on the final day of the season, with the title in their hands.
Therefore, it would mean the opportunity for Arsenal to go all the way and lift the coveted trophy, with some help from their bitter rivals.
But the former Spurs man O'Hara doesn't want that to happen, even if it boosts their hopes of a top-four finish, and has come up with an idea about how to possibly help City win on Tuesday.
“I'd play ryan mason in midfield,” he joked on the GameDay Phone-In amid the idea of Spurs helping Arsenal win the Premier League.
Mason currently works as an assistant to Ange Postecoglou and retired from the game in 2018 due to a head injury.
Therefore, he is not eligible to play, but another Spurs fan had a different idea, and O'Hara himself entered his thinking.
Daz, a Tottenham fan, called into the show and humorously suggested: “I'd actually get Jamie to play in that game because I want the worst team to come out so we get a total slap in the face!
“I don't want us to win, every player over 70 I would go and put on that side.”
He added: “We will go out and beat them, I know it will happen because we are that type of team, but I don't want it to happen, I want us to lose.”
O'Hara further explained his reasoning as to why Spurs winning and potentially landing the Champions League may not be the best outcome.
“I don't know if this team is ready to be in the Champions League. I think he (Postecoglou) needs more next season, I think he still needs to build.
“We keep giving away goals, the set pieces are not good, I still think it needs another season. Win the Champions League? Great, but we're not going to win it, are we?
“We are not going to win it, we are going to be eliminated, but with the Europa League we have a chance.”
