On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena in what promises to be yet another feisty Der Klassiker encounter. While the Meisterschale may not be on the line, for both sides, places in Germany’s EURO 2024 squad certainly are.
One of the names in the Bayern squad looking to impress Julian Nagelsmann is Leon Goretzka, who could take the place of Aleksandar Pavlović. The 19-year-old has returned to training after withdrawing from the Germany squad due to tonsillitis, but he remains a doubt for the starting XI.
However, it is unlikely that Manuel Neuer will be available for Thomas Tuchel, offering Sven Uleich the chance to impress, as he looks primed to make his first start for Der Rekordmeister since late October. As well as this, it is expected that Joshua Kimmich will continue to fill in at right back, with Sacha Boey still recovering from a hamstring tear.
Nevertheless, in more positive news for the record champions, it is understood that Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui will return to the bench for Saturday evening’s clash.
