After their 5-1 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, Bayern Munich travel to Mainz to face Bo Henriksen’s side at the MEWA Arena.
Bayern will once again be without Harry Kane who will miss the game due to a thigh injury. This will mean that they will once again have to play without a recognised striker, as they have done since the Englishman’s injnury against Borussia Dortmund. However, during his press conference, head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed he will be back to face RB Leipzig next Friday:
“His recovery went very well. It was a close call for tomorrow, but it’s looking good for Leipzig. There was no setback”
Jamal Musiala is set to return to the starting 11 after being benched against Heidenheim before being subbed on and changing the game, scoring twice to help Bayern win 4-2.
Leon Goretzka and Alphonso Davies were doubts for die Rekordmeister as both missed training during the week, but Kompany revealed that both should be part of the squad.
Daniel Peretz will retain his place as Bayern’s number one in the absence of Manuel Neuer
Predicted Bayern Munich XI (via kicker):
Daniel Peretz – Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Min-Jae Kim, Raphaël Guerreiro – Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic – Michael Olise, Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané – Jamal Musiala
