Germany host Ukraine in Nürnberg this evening in their first warm-up fixture ahead of Euro 2024. Julian Nagelsmann has already confirmed that both Manuel Neuer and Waldemar Anton will start, the latter in the absence of Antonio Rüdiger who on Saturday, won the Champions League with Real Madrid.
Also absent is Nico Schlotterbeck, Toni Kroos and Niclas Füllkrug, all of whom started in the final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at Wembley.
In the absence of Kroos, Brighton’s Pascal Groß has been rewarded for his performances this season with a place in Nagelsmann’s preliminary Euro 2024 squad, and the 32-year-old is expected to start alongside Bundesliga champion, Bayer Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich.
Nagelsmann has also appeared to have found a way to play both Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala as No. 10s in his team, with both players expected to start behind Arsenal’s Kai Havertz.
Other than those who featured in the Champions League final, Leroy Sané is absent through suspension.
