Premier League and Bundesliga clubs have put offers on the table for the Barcelona target
During the January transfer window, it was reported that Barcelona had made the decision to go for the Girona midfielder Alex Garcia. His captain stood out as one of the best in the division in the last two seasons, and is likely to be one of the business of the summer.
Maybe not for Barcelona though. Ace for Sport, talks with Garcia stalled for several weeks. Garcia publicly said in November that he would have liked to move to Barcelona, his boyhood club, but it seems that he has fallen down the list of priorities in the Catalan capital.
The Catalan newspaper goes on to say that Garcia already has firm offers from teams in the Premier League and Bundesliga this summer, and Barcelona will not make that move until they know what funds will be available.
It seems likely that this will remain the case until the Blaugrana can start making sales in the summer, and that uncertainty could well see them miss out on the Girona captain. With Garcia apparently an alternative to Amadou Onanaor perhaps even an opportunity rather than a priority, it would take a huge leap of faith for Garcia to wait for a Barcelona team struggling for money.
