  • Two more games will be shown on Saturday and Sunday, and another on Monday

The Premier League is back! and what an opening round of fixtures we have in store.

Erik ten Hag‘s rejuvenated Manchester United side host Fulham at Old Trafford to get the new season up and running on Friday night at 8pm.

Whilst newly promoted Ipswich Town will get their first taste of the Premier League on Saturday against Liverpool, whilst Southampton will travel to St. James Park to mark their Premier League return against Newcastle.

Last seasons runners-up Arsenal will get their new season underway at home against Wolves on Saturday, whilst champions Manchester City will begin their fifth title defence in-a-row against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately not all of this weekend’s ten fixtures have been selected to be shown on TV. Here are all the match-ups which will be available to stream on your TV this weekend.

Premier League Fixture on TV this weekend 

The one and only Premier League game scheduled for Friday, August 16 is between Manchester United and Fulham at 8pm. 

The opening match of the 2024-25 season will be available to watch live on Sky Sports. 

Here at Mail Sport we will also be providing a live blog of the sole opening day fixture, keeping you up to date with minute-by-minute updates as well as all the pre-match information you’ll need. 

On Saturday only two of the six games scheduled will be shown live on UK TV.

Jurgen Klopp’s former 12:30pm dreaded kick-off time fixture still haunts the Reds despite his departure as the Reds come up against newly promoted Ipswich Town.

They will be hoping that their bad fortunes in the 12:30pm Saturday kick-off times has changed since the arrival of Arne Slot.

The other game which will be shown live on Saturday is the afternoon match-up between West Ham and Aston Villa which is scheduled for 5:30pm and will be shown on Sky Sports.

Moving on to Sunday, last year’s champions Manchester City will begin their title defence away to Chelsea at 4:30pm with action from Stamford Bridge being shown live on Sky Sports. 

Pep Guardiola’s and Enzo Maresca’s men will not be the only faces shown on Sky on Sunday as Brentford’s game against Crystal Palace earlier on in the day at 12pm has also been selected for TV coverage on Sky Sports.

TV coverage of the Premier League will continue into Monday as Sky Sports is set to show the Monday night football clash between Tottenham and championship champions Leicester City at 8pm.
