Premier League star Sergio Reguilon calls Michael Owen 'dad' after noticing he looks like the former Liverpool and Man United striker's son
Sergio Reguilon had fans in stitches after issuing a brilliant one-word response to Michael Owen's latest social media post.
The Spaniard is currently on loan in Brentford of Tottenham after initially spending the first half of the season in manchester united.
But in a strange social media crossover, Reguilon crashed Owen's post celebrating his son's 18th birthday.
Owen took to X, formally known as Twitter, to publicly wish his son James a happy birthday.
first Liverpool and the Manchester United star posted a photo of himself alongside James on a trip to Paris along with the caption: “Welcome to adulthood son. “I am incredibly proud of the man you have become.”
After finding the post, Reguilon, who bears a striking resemblance to James, responded by writing: “Dad?”
The response garnered 20,000 likes at the time of writing and fans went into hysterics after matching the two.
Owen has yet to respond to Reguilon's attempt to add humor to his post, but X fans were clearly entertained.
Reguilon joined Brentford in January after Manchester United ended his loan spell at the club.
The Red Devils activated a release clause in the deal that saw him land at Old Trafford as cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
He played just 12 times for United, accumulating 655 minutes of action before returning to London to sign for the Bees.
Reguilón has made six international appearances for Spain, but has not played for his country since 2021.
