A new Fantasy Premier League season is upon us.
Millions of managers around the world are busily preparing their teams for the 2024/25 campaign.
And ahead of the first deadline of the season, we’ve teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to bring you hints, tips and advice.
Here’s what they have to say ahead of Gameweek 1…
With an exciting season for Aston Villa only days away from commencing, it’s time to start considering our Fantasy Premier League options for Gameweek 1.
Villa have a number of great options to consider including in your team, with the credentials of Leon Bailey (£6.5m) standing out.
Despite not playing as many minutes as departed duo Douglas Luiz or Moussa Diaby, Bailey fared better in terms of returns. The Jamaican was Villa’s joint-second best asset in the game, producing 148 FPL points, level with Douglas Luiz – Villa’s penalty taker.
Bailey scored more goals (10) and racked up more attacking returns (21) than either player. He averaged five points per start which was bettered only by Ollie Watkins (£9.0m).
Bailey will be ready to roll come the Gamweek 1 trip to West Ham, a team he scored against last term.
Morgan Rogers (£5.0 million) is a differential well worth considering for the new campaign.
The midfielder hit the ground running after signing in January and impressed in the run-in, recording three goals and an assist. These returns placed him seventh among midfielders for attacking returns before a Gameweek 36 injury cut his season short.
Only Watkins had more shots on goal for Villa between Gameweek 31 and Gameweek 36 than Rogers’ seven.
Of last season’s regular starters only Watkins, Bailey and Diaby shot more frequently than Rogers’ 58.8 minutes per goal attempt. He has looked lively in pre-season too, scoring three goals and coming close to two more.
