The battle to win the right to sponsor Barcelona's kit continues, and there is talk of a major new offer from Puma.
Nike currently has the rights, but are locked in deep discussions with the club to try to agree a continued agreement.
But Barcelona's financial problems make them open to any major offer, and Puma is looking to take advantage.
Sport are reported that Puma has long tried to secure this particular brand of crown jewels, and sees its chance. Barcelona wants out of its Nike deal, which lasts until 2026, and there is great tension on both sides.
Puma's priority is to avoid a bidding war with Nike, but they have made their offer clear – a signing fee of 100 million euros, with something between 120 and 140 million euros per year. A major increase over the €85 million to €105 million they currently receive, according to the Athletic.
This would be a huge financial boost for Barcelona – the problem is that their deal with Nike won't be easy to get out of.
