Unai Emery created a slice of history on Tuesday night as he became the fastest Aston Villa manager in history to reach 50 wins in all competitions.
The Spaniard oversaw Villa’s 2-1 success over Wycombe Wanderers to bring up his half-century in just 90 matches, three fewer than Joe Mercer in the early 1960s.
Since taking charge of his first encounter in November 2022, Emery has seen off a total of 30 different teams in that run to 50 wins.
