Rayo Vallecano is looking for a new manager, after making the decision to part with Francisco Rodriguez.
Francisco took charge last summer, replacing Andoni Iraola, who decided to leave the club at the end of his contract to take charge at AFC Bournemouth. It had a promising start, as Rayo was eight in one point. However, after a streak of one win in 14 La Liga games, a streak that stretches back to October, the decision was made to dismiss the 45-year-old.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT / Rayo Vallecano de Madrid announces the dismissal of Francisco Rodríguez as coach of the First Team, as well as its coaching staff.
From the Club we would like to thank you for your professionalism and dedication. And I wish you good luck in your future projects. pic.twitter.com/VZ61bEK8ZY— Rayo Vallecano (@RayoVallecano) February 13, 2024
It is safe to say that Francisco has failed to reach the heights set by Iraola during his time in Vallecas, and with the club approaching the relegation zone, it makes sense to make a change. Vallecano Ray they're seven points clear of the drop zone at this stage, so they're not in immediate danger, although that could be the case soon – it still could be.
