Barcelona has shifted focus from Nico Williams to Dani Olmoafter the first all but confirmed I wouldn't join the club. In the case of Olmo, RB Leipzig opened the door to negotiations with the Blaugrana.

The Sports Director Deco traveled to Leipzig to discuss the terms with the German side, Olmo, and their agents, and the next 48 hours are expected to be decisive in terms of an agreement made. During a press conference, the Director General of Sport Marcel Schaefer explained that they were open to talk about a price, but it seems very unlikely that the Blaugrana will get it cheap.

“We are ready to talk. But Dani has a certain value. That's why we are comfortable now. Dani is an exceptional player,” explained Schaefer Sport.

Different outlets have reported different numbers regarding the offers that the Catalan side has made, with some putting the fixed fee up to 55 million euros, and others saying that their offer is 47 million euros, with variables that take the potential fee more than 60 million euros. Leipzig said they wanted to guarantee at least 60 million euros from the deal, but Schaefer's words open the door to perhaps a new solution.

Since Leipzig do not need to sell, it seems likely that they will demand Barcelona to pay more than €60 million to allow them to pay in a schedule that suits them. Recent reports say that Olmo's release clause will drop to €50m next season, and Deco will no doubt point to this as a base figure.
