The DFB have announced that RB Leipzig right-back Benjamin Henrichs has left the German national team due to a back injury.

Henrichs is said to be having back problems, which means he has withdrawn from the squad ahead of games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

At the moment, no replacement will be called up but this could change after head coach Julian Nagelsmann assess the situation.

The 27-year-old is the fifth player to withdraw from the national team ahead of this international break. Club teammate David Raum, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Robin Koch have all pulled out in the past week, while Niclas Füllkrug was not called up in the first place due to injury.

The withdrawals have opened the door for new faces in the national team with Jonathan Burkardt, Jamie Leweling and Tim Kleindienst all receiving their maiden call-ups to the national team. Kevin Schade and Robin Gosens both returned to the team after long absences.
