Real Betis defender Felix Garreta is receiving treatment in hospital after suffering a head injury in a domestic fall.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Spanish second division side SD Amorebieta, who released a statement on Garreta’s condition.
The club said on Thursday: “The Amorebieta Sports Society reports that the footballer Félix Martí Garreta recently suffered a head injury as a result of a fall in the domestic environment.
“The player on loan from Real Betis Balompié was admitted to a hospital, with a reserved prognosis and pending progress.
“The SDA remains in permanent contact with the footballer’s family and his club of origin.”
Real Betis shared a message of support for Garreta and his family on the club’s official X account: “All the encouragement, strength and affection of Real Betis and the Betis for Félix and his family. We are all with you.”
The Spanish Football Federation wrote: “We want to send a lot of strength and encouragement to Félix Martí Garreta and his family.”
Garreta joined Amorebieta from Betis on a season-long loan last summer. He has made 31 appearances in LaLiga 2 so far this season, scoring four goals.
He has made two first-team appearances for Real Betis — one in La Liga and the other in the Copa del Rey — and has represented Spain’s Under-19s seven times.
