It has been a busy summer for Real Betis, who have already secured five signings. Two of those were in defense (Romain Perraud and Diego Llorente), where reinforcements were essential. They're not done in this department either, with another player arriving in the coming days.
Ace for Relief, Betis has agreed a contract with Ricardo Rodriguez, who has been a free agent for the past few weeks after his Torino contract expired. The Swiss international also had offers from Saudi Arabia, Istanbul Basaksehir and Hoffenheim, but is now set to join Manuel Pellegrini's side.
Rodriguez, who also boasts Wolfsburg and AC Milan on his resume, is set in the Betis squad nicely, as he can cover at left back – his natural position – and in the central defense, where there is also a lack of options. He should see a fair amount of playing time during the upcoming season due to his versatility.
