At the end of the 2022-23 season, Alvaro Rodriguez made his mark in Real Madrid's first team, after being promoted from Castilla due to injuries. The Uruguayan striker scored against Atletico Madrid, while his overall game also impressed coach Carlo Ancelotti, although it was not enough to earn him a place in his squad for 2023-24.
Rodriguez has not been able to enter Ancelotti's plans in the last 10 months, and so, The Athletic they indicated that he will be considered as a candidate to be sold. Los Blancos are not considering a loan at the moment, as they prefer to sell him with a 50% sale clause – an approach they have used regularly in recent years.
Clubs in La Liga and Segunda are eyeing a move for Rodriguez, who will be keen to secure regular first-team football wherever he goes. Real Madrid they also want some control over his future, as they clearly believe he is a valuable prospect.
