Real Madrid announced a third signed contract of the week, with Lucas Vazquez writing a new deal on Thursday. After Kylian Mbappe on Tuesday and Modric on Wednesday, the renewal of Vazquez was confirmed and the photo ops published.
The 33-year-old has extended his deal for another year until 2025, with players over thirty generally only offered one-year extensions. Vazquez was a support to Dani Carvajal, but as always he played an important role in his season. In 38 appearances he registered three goals and eight assists despite just 18 starts, including a crucial stoppage-time winner over Alaves and a man of the match in their 3-2 win over Barcelona, where he was involved in all three goals.

Some believe Vazquez should still be included in Spain's squad for Euro 2024, but he will once again be a reliable understudy for Dani Carvajal next season.
