Real Madrid have made radical changes to plans with 4 targets set for the 2025 summer transfer window
Real Madrid have been cautious in the transfer market in recent years, with only a handful of arrivals coming through for the most part. Next summer is shaping up to be a little bigger for Blancos.
The European champions have four positions they hope to strengthen next summer AS Diaryalthough it is believed that the work is all done for one of them. A left-back is one of these positions, but having already agreed terms with Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, who is able to sign a contract in two and a half months, they are not actively moving in that department.
The second position they are looking for is on the other flank. The injury to Dani Carvajal, who will be 33 next year when he returns from injury, and the age of Lucas Vazquez, also 33, have forced Los Blancos to look at that area as well. Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is another potential free agent signing that is being looked at, meanwhile Jeremie Frimpong and Pedro Porro are monitored as well.
Another position affected by injury is central defense. With Leny Yoro signed for Manchester United, and David Alaba yet to return from his knee problem, Real Madrid want to add more depth. Jesus Vallejo is also likely to leave, and Yarek Gasiorowski at Valencia and Vitor Reis at Palmeiras have been suggested as potential areas to be strengthened. Jonathan Tah would be a more experienced alternative, he too is out of contract next season.
Finally, his start of the season has convinced the hierarchy in Real Madrid that he must sign a central midfielder to replace Toni Kroos. Someone to build from the back and control the time of the game, Florian Wirtz is working, but more like a long-term sign for someone to show his competence in the final third. Paris Saint-Germain's Vitinha is the model they follow, although they consider his signing potentially too difficult.
It certainly raised eyebrows when Real Madrid failed to sign a centre-back or midfielder this summer, hoping the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe would add enough firepower to compensate for their injuries and Kroos' exit. However, perhaps their new strategy is a recognition that they could do with more depth, even if Carvajal's injury could not be planned.
