The initial reports that Real Madrid can be considered a loan Arda Guler were supported, as Los Blancos move towards an exit for the Turkish starlet. Guler, 18, arrived from Fenerbahce for around €25m including variables last summer with huge expectations but has barely featured this season.
This is in no small part due to injuries, with three separate problems keeping him out for the first six months without making his debut. However, he has been fit for the past six weeks, and has seen just 89 minutes of action, most of which came in a cup tie against Arandina.
Part of these expectations came from Carlo Ancelotti who speaks Guler, but Relief say that Los Blancos are approaching the loan in the summer. They feel that a similar spell away could help in the same way that Brahim Diaz did, and are concerned that the lack of minutes could stop his development, but they want Guler not to see it as a step backwards.
The alternative is that he stops working in the background and continues to follow his physical plan to strengthen his frame. Equally, which risks more frustration from the teenager – the arrival of Kylian Mbappe if it happens, and Endrick Felipe are not likely to open the most for him.
His temper has become something of a problem. Ancelotti noted that Guler is too likely to get ahead of himself when things are going well, and to collapse when things are going badly. It is something that has been seen with Guler losing his temper for being left on the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu, and as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have spoken to him to try to manage his emotions and see his situation with perspective . Head of Recruitment Juni Calafat, who has been key in Guler's arrival and fit, will have a big say in his path.
It could be said that Ancelotti was talking about Guler, which was undoubtedly to maintain the morale of the Turkish talent due to injuries, it was one of his rare mistakes this season. The 18-year-old clearly has expectations for game time, but the reality is that the Italian cannot afford to drop the likes of Rodrygo Goes or Brahim Diaz for him at present.
