Carlo Ancelotti had a fabulous second spell at Real Madrid, although rumors of his departure were never far away. His future was under the microscope earlier this season, and with ongoing rumors of Xavi Alonso possibly heading to the Santiago Bernabeu, there is a chance he will leave next summer.
Ancelotti is under contract until 2026, but Real Madrid may try to bring Alonso in at the end of the season. If that happens, AS Roma could move for the Italian under the name La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MD) reported that they have him on a two-man manager list. Former Juventus coach Max Allegri is the other name Roma are considering as their manager for next season and beyond.
It was expected that Ancelotti would retire from management when he leaves Real Madridalthough Rome clearly feels that he could be persuaded to continue in his homeland.
