There was understandable gloom around Valdebebas late last week when news emerged that 16-year-old starlet Joan Martinez, recently returned from the pre-season tour of the United States with the first team, had torn her ligament anterior cruciate.
The teenager will undergo surgery soon and will likely miss a minimum of six to seven months as he takes steps forward in his career. According to MarcoIt is an injury that has hit the Real Madrid team hard. Thibaut Courtois, who suffered the same injury on the same day last year, was the first to notice that something was wrong, and raised the alarm after a challenge in training.
“We will play together.”

After it became clear that his injury was serious, star forward Kylian Mbappé he told Martinez that they play together on the field. The defender Antonio Rudiger even went a step further, and offered to stay at his house that evening, to save him from returning to the dormitory where he lives on the campus of Real Madrid. However, he refused with his family to travel to be with him in the residence. Martinez is also set for an improved contract from the club, as they had discussed before his injury.
One of the things that the manager Carlo Ancelotti has achieved once again behind the success of this team is the team spirit and the dressing room. It's clearly something Mbappe has taken to heart.
