Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe believes he knows who is behind the rape investigation story

Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe blew off some steam in Stockholm last week, traveling to Sweden with Bayer Leverkusen's Nordi Mukiele, and enjoying the nightlife. After the event, the photos emerged, and the local media mentioned his name as a suspect in a rape investigation that had been opened by the Swedish police, partly taking place in the hotel where he was staying.

Mbappé's lawyer, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, defended his client fiercely, and said it was impossible for him to be involved, suggesting he could have been set up. Meanwhile, Mbappe had denied that he was involved following a report by RMC Sport, saying it was “fake news”, and indicating that, in his opinion, it was no coincidence that the story appeared just before his hearing in court with former club Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old is currently involved in a wage dispute with PSG, with the French giants owing him €55 million. An unofficial source of the club as well released a statement to L'Equipe earlier in the week in response to Mbappe's words on Twitter/X. They called him a “disgrace”, and said that Mbappe blamed them for all his troubles.

Now Chain SER report that Mbappe is convinced that PSG is behind the story, after his suggestions earlier in the week at this end. Mbappé is fully behind Canu-Bernard's theory that he has been set up, and that there is an ongoing campaign to destroy his image. The star striker also assured Real Madrid that history is made of PSG.

Wednesday evening, Le Parisien reported that Mbappe has had sexual relations with a woman in the hotel in question, but they were consensual. They have not yet been able to confirm if the woman who filed the rape complaint is the same one he had relations with.
