In September, Kylian Mbappe's purchase of French Ligue 2 side SM Caen went through, making him the youngest person to own a football club. As it turns out, they weren't his first choice to buy.
As reported by AS DiaryMbappe first tried to become the majority shareholder of AS Monaco, for whom he played between 2013 and 2017. During the 2023-24 season, it was revealed that the Ligue 1 giants were for sale, and this was when the 25-year- old preliminary questions about a purchase.
Coalition Capital, Mbappe's investment fund, were involved, but in the end, all parties involved considered the transaction too expensive. However, Caen has been established, although it does not rule out trying to buy Monaco at some time in the future.
For now, Mbappe will be content with the club he owns. His focus will always be primarily on things on the field Real Madrid.
