Midfielder of Real Madrid Toni Kroos let out something of a laugh when asked about his future after a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, before denying that he had made a call on whether to return in white next season.
The comments were paid little mind by Real Madridand now SER Deportivos (via AS Diary) say this is because they know a deal is in store for Kroos. The 34-year-old midfielder will announce his contract renewal after the semi-final with Bayern next Wednesday. This agrees with the report up to this point.
Kroos has always maintained that he wants to come out on top, and does not like a secondary role before his retirement, as happened to Luka Modric this season. However, there is no doubt that he remains the key to Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti as far as things are concerned. The German midfielder has an argument to say that he is their player of the season.
