Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham will not face any punishment for an alleged offensive remark he made toward Getafe’s Mason Greenwood.

The Spanish FA (RFEF) has confirmed there is no credible evidence of what Bellingham allegedly said to Greenwood and as such, the case has been dismissed.

The incident occurred during the second half of Madrid’s 2-0 victory at Getafe last month, after Bellingham had tackled Greenwood. Videos of the alleged incident from the TV broadcast emerged on social media during the game.

La Liga was also investigating the incident after Getafe complained about it, with the organisation hiring an expert lip reader to help look into the matter.

Getafe sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, previously insisted Greenwood did not want the matter to escalate.

Madrid have been approached for comment by The Athletic.

Greenwood joined Getafe side on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old was made available for transfer after United confirmed on August 21 that they would not bring the forward back into the first-team squad, after The Athletic had revealed details of plans to reintegrate him and then the subsequent U-turn.

He had been subject to an internal investigation from United since February when the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) discontinued its case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. He denied all the alleged offences.
