Earlier this week, Real Sociedade confirmed that Martin Zubimendi suffered a hamstring injury during training. Initially it was thought that he could miss the rest of the seasonwhich would have been a massive blow for the Basque side in their quest for European qualification.

However, it has now been reported by Relief that Zubimendi should only miss – at most – two of the last five games of La Real. He is definitely out for Saturday's game against Las Palmas, and while he is still considered a major doubt to face Barcelona next weekend, he is expected to return for the game with Valencia three days later.

Zubimendi hopes for an “express recovery” in the next 10 days, so he can play a big part for Real society in the run-in season. It will also allow him to build up some match fitness ahead of Euro 2024, where he will be Spain – except for any injury encounter.
