Chelsea suffered his second first division season loss last weekend against Liverpool but responded with a victory against Panathinaikos in the Conference League four days later. Your next opponents are Newcastle UnitedEdit in the English top flight at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 27 October.
It will be vital that the Blues do not drop any further points in the league at this stage of the season if they are to challenge for a top four spot at the end of the campaign. With that in mind, here is the starting XI that Enzo Maresca will likely use against Newcastle.
Goalkeeper – Robert Sánchez will replace Filip Jorgensen between the sticks. The Spaniard has conceded seven goals this season but will look to frustrate the Magpies at home this weekend.
Defenders – Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana were suspended when Chelsea played Liverpool at Anfield, but will be available for selection against Newcastle. The Spaniard is expected to start at left back, maintaining his place in the Conference League team, while his French teammate will play at centre-back.
James Reece He is set for a second consecutive start after being rested against Panathinaikos at right back, while Levi Colwill will play alongside Fofana as the other defender called up to start for Chelsea.
Sancho and Palmer will be starters
Midfielders – Enzo Fernandez started against Panathinaikos and will keep his place in the deepest midfield position, alongside South American star Moisés Caicedo, who will be called up after his midweek rest.
Cole Palmer will be number 10 as he didn't even travel to Greece on Thursday and should be fresh with a week's rest under his belt. Noni Madueke will be Chelsea's right winger, while Jadon Sancho will once again feature on the left flank.
Forward – Nicolas Jackson will lead the Chelsea line as he has done in all of the team's Premier League games so far. The African's form will be crucial if Chelsea are to overtake the Magpies, ending a run of consecutive games without a win in the Premiership.
Here's what the team is expected to look like on paper:
