Simon Jordan has harshly criticized a section of Chelsea fans after they sent a letter of discontent to the club's owners.

The Chelsea Supporters' Trust (CST) raised concerns about the club's sporting direction in a recent letter to senior figures at Stamford Bridge.

The CST has warned club bosses that if there are no signs of improvement from Mauricio Pochettino's men, they will take matters into their own hands.

That includes chants directed at televised matches and protests organized at future first-team matches.

Former crystal Palace Owner Jordan criticized the CST's actions and stated that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly and company probably don't pay attention to it.

Asked if the letter should upset club bosses, Jordan said: “Not really.

“If you want to go back – apparently in this ridiculous letter you wrote that means nothing – suggest if you would like to go back to the 1980s.

“Would you rather go back to playing in the Second Division, would you rather go back to the dilapidated state of Stamford Bridge?

“You have a period of time, two years after the owner of your 'Daddy Warbucks' was sanctioned for being an accomplice of Vladimir Putin.

“Now we have an American-owned model that is not working very well right now, they have made some serious mistakes and some failures and some decisions have cost them an inordinate amount of money.

“So their crime is that they spent a billion pounds to make some mistakes. They reached a cup final this season, can still finish at the top levels of the Premier League and possibly reach an FA Cup final.

“You are seeing it in the newspaper today, Manchester City fans are not happy because they have increased the price of their season tickets. “All this regeneration the owners have done for this football club (the fans think) as long as it doesn't cost us money, we're fine with it.”

Jordan continued to criticize the CST, describing its actions as unbalanced and calling the letter “ridiculous and legitimate.”

“Now you think you can write a letter to tell everyone how toxic it is, because the club that you thought was going to disappear two years ago is now something you are not happy with,” he added.

He added: “The idea that letters like this could be written is the kind of thinking that has now prompted us to make a political decision around a fan-led review that says we need independent regulation to strangle the game that has had so much success.

“I think it's ridiculous. You have to strike the right balance. Everyone who owns a football club respects the fans. “They understand that fans want to see their team win, but they just talk nonsense about what they think they are entitled to and how they think they are entitled to it.”
