According to Florian Plettenberg, Robert Andrich is set to sign a new deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
It is understood that Andrich’s current deal at the BayArena is set to expire in 2026, having signed a five-year contract at the club after joining from Union Berlin in 2021.
However, as stated in the report, Die Werkself are keen on keeping the German international in Leverkusen for the foreseeable future and have, therefore, offered Andrich an extended deal until either 2028 or 2029.
The 29-year-old is considered to be a key player under Xabi Alonso, and a new deal would suit all parties, with Andrich hoping to remain at the club for the long term as well.
Due to these factors, there is an expectation that a contract extension will be agreed upon and signed in the coming days or weeks rather than months.
As well as Andrich, the Bundesliga champions are also looking to tie Amine Adli down to a new long-term deal as the Werkself look to keep the core of their title-winning squad together.
