Roberto de Zerbi offers an open response to Barcelona's move

Barcelona they retained Roberto De Zerbi on their shortlist so they can replace it Xavi Hernandez.

The Catalan giants are currently working through a number of options on who could come in to take charge next season.

In addition to links with managers from all over the continent Brighton & Hove Albion Coach De Zerbi is highly appreciated by the Barcelona hierarchy.

The former boss of La Blaugrana, Pep Guardiola, gave his support to de Zerbi who was the right candidate to take his place.

Barcelona sent scouts to watch de Zerbi's team from the beginning of 2024, but nothing was done.

De Zerbi was asked about the rumours, ahead of the Premier League trip to Brighton Fulhamand admitted that his future plans may change.

“At the moment I only have Brighton on my mind. I want to finish the season in the best way with our young players”, as quotes from BBC Sport.

“Next season? It's true that I have a contract, but I haven't decided anything, my attention is 100% on Brighton.”

Brighton head into the weekend in 7th place in the Premier League, but de Zerbi wants at least a top six finish, alongside a strong push in this season's Europa League.
