Roberto de Zerbi prepared for Liverpool talks after Barcelona were excluded and the decision of Xabi Alonso
Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto de Zerbi he is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after coaches in Europe at the moment, but he will not be the next Barcelona manager. The recommendation of Pep Guardiola for the role, the Blaugrana will go in a different direction.
Matteo Moretto confirmed earlier this week that de Zerbi had been scratched off Barcelona's roster, with the Italian preferring to stay in the Premier League, and his release clause (14-15 million euros) s' commits to a potential move to Catalonia.

The same source revealed that de Zerbi has held talks with Bayern Munich, who have said they will make him their first choice now that Xabi Alonso has confirmed he is staying at Bayer Leverkusen. De Zerbi will soon also hold talks with Liverpool, who have also seen Alonso as an option, and have also been linked with Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim.
It seems that Barcelona will focus their efforts convince Xavi Hernandez to stay at the club, although he maintains his line that he will not go back on his decision, but the president Joan Laporta is set to discuss the matter with him towards the end of April. Certainly the Blaugrana will leave it late if they make plans for the summer if they are to look for a new coach at that stage.
