“When I was an employee of Brighton, I had a huge release clause in excess of £10m. As part of the agreement to terminate that contract, that release clause has been reduced. I understand it's a sliding scale, so Brighton You will still get a few quid from this deal.

“But we have to keep an eye on De Zerbi, who may play in Marseille. We know how passionate their fans are. I would suggest that this will be a match made in heaven or hell.”
