Robinho faces 'hell on earth' after being arrested in Brazil on rape charges

Robinho was taken into custody by Brazilian police after his conviction for rape in Italy was ratified by Brazilian authorities. He will spend nine years in prison, according to his sentence.

The former Manchester City, Real Madrid and the Milan star had avoided justice in Italy for several years after he was found guilty of rape for an incident in 2013 in Milan. He maintains his innocence, but the Italian courts found otherwise.

Brazil does not have an extradition policy, so he has been able to live in freedom until now, but on Wednesday the Supreme Court voted in favor of transferring his sentence to Brazil, where he is serving the his time
