Lucas Digne’s France got the better of a Belgium side containing Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana on Monday night.

The Aston Villa team-mates faced off in UEFA Nations League action as Les Bleus triumphed 2-0 at Groupama Stadium in Lyon.

Digne, making his first appearance for his country for over two years, completed 90 minutes for France.

Onana did likewise for Belgium while compatriot Tielemans was substituted after an hour of the League A Group 2 encounter.

Morgan Rogers bagged an impressive brace for England’s Under-21s as they saw off Austria 4-1 in a friendly at Kenilworth Road.

Villa’s attacking midfielder opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, before restoring England’s advantage with a well-taken finish early in the second half.

Rogers completed 60 minutes of the clash while Villa team-mate Samuel Iling Jr, on loan at Bologna, enjoyed 72 minutes.

Ian Maatsen helped the Netherlands secure qualification for next summer’s European Under-21 Championship with a 3-1 win over Georgia.

The left-back completed 90 minutes for Jong Oranje as they clinched victory in the U21 qualifier to seal their place at the 2025 tournament in Slovakia.
