Morgan Rogers has been crowned Aston Villa Player of the Month for December.
The England international closed 2024 in scintilating form for Unai Emery’s side, with three goals and one assist in eight appearances in all competitions.
Rogers featured in every game the Villans contested last month, starting and playing 66 minutes of a trip to Chelsea on December 1.
A sublime strike at Villa Park in a 3-1 win over Brentford was his first goal of December three days later, before 90 minutes in Premier League games against Southampton and Nottingham Forest, either side of a 3-2 Champions League victory at RB Leipzig.
He was back on the scoring trail four days before Christmas, with a Player of the Match performance in a 2-1 victory at home to Manchester City. Setting up Jhon Durán’s early strike, Rogers doubled Villa’s advantage in the second period, with a surging run forward and assured left-footed finish into the bottom corner.
After starting and playing 69 minutes against Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Boxing Day, the 22-year-old then closed the month and the year in style four days after, with another neat finish at The Holte End in a 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Villa’s top three players in our December poll were:
Morgan Rogers 43%
Youri Tielemans 14%
Jhon Durán 13%
Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations, Morgan!
