Aston Villa is pleased to announce that Leon Routh has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The centre-back has made a promising start to life as a Villan since his move from Luton Town in the summer.
England youth international Routh has been a strong performer across the Under-18 Premier League, EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League so far this season.
Academy Manager Mark Harrison hopes he will continue to develop in the coming years.
“We are delighted to see Leon sign his first professional contract,” he said.
“Since he joined us in the summer, we have been really pleased with Leon’s development, which has now seen him become a regular in our Under-19 UEFA Youth League Squad at the age of 16 and recently represent England at Under-18 level.
“Hopefully Leon can continue this journey in the same way and in years to come become a member of our first team squad.”
Congratulations, Leon!
