Roy Keane has mocked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's claim that Fred was one of Man United's most reliable stars.
He norwegian coach, who is recognized as a Red Devils legend, was appointed Man United boss in December 2018 and spent almost three years in the role.
Replacement Jose MourinhoLife at Old Trafford started well for Solskjaer, but when he left the club things started to go wrong after a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, a 2-0 defeat to Man City and, in his last game, a 4-1. defeat against Watford.
During that time at the club, Solskjaer says United came close to signing of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellinghamalthough he also regrets the decision to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo to the club.
With so many players not showing their quality on a regular basis, Solskjaer spoke about his players during an appearance on The Overlap in which he reserved special praise for three players.
He said: “It's that consistency again: play well for a while and then you don't know what you're going to get and that's the worst thing for a manager. If you don't know what you're going to get, your team, it's horrible, absolutely horrible.
“That's why you know when you have Fred, Scott (McTominay), Nemanja (Matic) they will give you seven or eight out of 10 every time.
“They'll give you everything and that's the best feeling.”
Looking bemused, Keane asked: “Fred? Seven or eight out of 10? I'm not so sure about that,” to which Solskjaer said: “Yes. Yes. Fred, I really liked him in midfield because he had legs and we needed those legs in midfield.”
But as Solskjaer spoke, Keane could be seen checking Solskjaer's glass to see what he had been drinking with a cheeky expression on his face.

Having signed for £47 million in 2018, Fred made 213 appearances for manchester unitedscoring 14 goals along the way.
He has since left the club for the Turkish giants. Fenerbahce last summer.
