Rubén Amorim dealt the first injury blow to Manchester United when a player limped during an international match
Rubén Amorim has received a possible blow before his first game as Manchester United manager after the international break.
Amorim will officially begin his reign at Old Trafford on November 24 at Ipswich Town at Portman Road, but will go into that match without one of his players.
United defender Victor Lindelof limped off the field during Sweden's 2-1 victory over Slovakia on Saturday.
Despite his 266 appearances for the Red Devils, fans would know that the centre-back has struggled to get game time this season, playing just 58 minutes in four substitute appearances in the league.
Amorim most likely does not intend to start the Swede, but with injury concerns, Lindelof could have improved his role within the team.
As the Portuguese coach prefers a defense of three, a center back will automatically be promoted to the first team.

New signings Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martínez and Matthijs de Ligt are expected to form their new long-term back three.
Unfortunately, Yoro suffered a foot injury in pre-season against Arsenal and is yet to make his first competitive appearance for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Martínez missed international duty with Argentina and will need to have his fitness assessed after suffering an injury against city of leicester.
Harry Maguire would also have been competing for minutes and seeking a starting role under the new manager, but the Englishman is also recovering from a foot injury.
That leaves Jonny Evans as the main benefactor, having appeared against the Foxes as a substitute ahead of Lindelof, who did not touch the field that game.
Amorim, possibly with an improvised defense, has a huge job on its hands to unite the fans with the team.
It is a task that began without setting foot in England, overcoming city of manchester 4-1 in the Champions League in his last European game as Sporting coach.
Despite being announced on October 28, fans will have to wait until November 24 for Amorim to be on the Premier League side when they face off. ipswich town on Portman Road.
What appears to be an easy three points, but after Ipswich's first win of the season against Tottenham Hotspur – a team higher up the table than United – may be a tougher task than expected.
Fans hope the 39-year-old makes it through the season Erik ten Hag who was harshly criticized for his lack of style.
They were delighted to hear Amorim's first interview with the club, as the Portuguese manager said: “I think you'll see an idea. You may like it or not, I don't know, but you'll get an idea.
“You will see a positioning. You'll see something that we want to reach that kind of level. You will feel that. “I will do everything I can for the team… I will try to do everything I can to put this club in its rightful place.”
