Regardless of what happens in the Spanish capital, come rain or shine Saudi Arabia are interested in poaching the Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. The story first came to light in the summer, and has returned on several occasions.
Saudi giants Al-Ahli contacted Vinicius' agents in December for fresh talks over his future, assuring the Brazilian they remain interested in making him the world's richest player. The Athletic they say they held telephone conversations, and explained that they will return for him in the summer, after a face-to-face meeting in London last August.
The Blancos have contracted Vinicius until 2027, but are set for new contract talks with him this summer as well, with the Saudi presence potentially muddying the waters. Vinicius has always publicly maintained his desire to stay Real Madridbut abandoned contract talks with them after trying to start negotiations in September.
