Manchester City have completed the signing of Savinho from Troyes on a five-year contract in a transfer worth up to €40million (£33.7m; $43.7m).
The Brazil international has signed a deal through to 2029 at City, for whom he becomes their first signing of the summer transfer window.
City will pay €25m upfront for Savinho, with a further €15m in add-ons.
“I’m so happy to be joining Manchester City, the Premier League champions and Club World Cup winners,” he said. “Everyone knows they are the best team in the world right now, so to be here is very exciting for me.
“I’m excited about the chance to work under Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest coaches ever, and someone I know will help me improve even more.
“I had an amazing time in Spain and I’m looking forward to a new challenge of playing in the Premier League and alongside some of the best players in the world.
“I can’t wait to meet the fans and my new team–mates and hopefully be a part of bringing more success to City.”
The 20-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Girona from Troyes, with both clubs owned by City Football Group and has scored one goal across seven international caps for Brazil.
Savio starred with nine league goals and 10 assists as the Catalan club finished third in La Liga and secured their first ever qualification for the Champions League next season.
Savio played mainly on the left wing at Girona, but when he was previously on loan at PSV Eindhoven, he played on both wings and in central attacking areas.
He joined Troyes — for whom he never made a first-team appearance — from Atletico Mineiro in 2022 but has never made a competitive appearance for the Ligue 2 side following loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and Girona. He previously represented Brazil at youth level.
